When the summer weather is finally here, it’s a great time to have a nice, refreshing drink.
Obviously, I could say that a nice, cold beer would be a great choice or a cool, sparkling glass of white wine! Actually, they are both great choices – yes, we’re allowed some alcohol in our lives!!
But…
I’ll keep it healthy for today!
I like to create my own milkshakes – without using milk!! I mean, without using cows’ milk, that is.
So what milk do I use?
Coconut milk.
This is a great replacement for cows’ milk and it’s healthy too. For those who are lactose intolerant, it’s a good alternative.
So, onto my milkshakes then.
The first one is Banana and Blueberry Milkshake. Add the following ingredients to a blender and whizz up for 30 seconds.
1 Banana
A handful of fresh or frozen blueberries
A glass of coconut milk
A squirt of honey
I’ve attached a photo and it tastes great.
The second one is Banana Green Milkshake. Add the following ingredients to a blender and again, whizz up for 30 seconds.
1 Banana
Half a ripe avocado
A handful of spinach leaves
A glass of coconut milk
A squirt of agave nectar (or honey)
I’ve also attached a photo of this one and despite it looking very green, it tastes delicious.
So, there you go. Some new ideas for lovely summery drinks.
